1. Spectrometers should only be operated on mains supply with PE protective conductors.

2. Spectrometer should only be operated in a dry environment.

3. Accident prevention instructions complying with safety legislation requirements must be observed.

4. During operation, maintenance or repair, no safety function must be put out of action. Pull out main supply plugs!

5. Repairs should only be carried out by qualified personnel.

6. Only use original spare parts for repairs.

7. When working on the energy source, when dismantling the test probe or stand for cleaning or during lengthy stoppages only the energy source must switched off, not the entire spectrometer.

8. The vacuum pump exhaust hose should discharge outside the building. When possible, the vacuum pump should be placed outside the spectrometer room in order to avoid noise and smell.

9. Regular inspection of the spectrometer by the manufacturer increase reliability.

10. Take note of instruction plates on the spectrometer.
